Isolators and isolating switches are used primarily to disconnect circuits and apparatus on which work is to be done. A mechanical switching device provides the function of cutting off, for reasons of safety, the supply to all or parts of a circuit.
KATKO’s range of stainless steel isolators is housed in grade 314 stainless steel enclosures sealing to IP65 /IP66/ IP69K. The KATKO stainless steel isolator range offers superior safety performance to the highest specifications whilst meeting the requirements of safety procedures. Easy to clean, the acid-proof stainless steel AISI 316 enclosure is innovatively designed with an angled top rainhood protection for effective cleaning and sterilisation routines.
Available in a flat and sloping roof enclosure, KATKO was the first manufacturer to design isolators with a sloped roof. Designed for sectors where hygiene and good protection against corrosion are required. The isolators are able to be jet washed making them ideal for factory use.
Suitable for harsh and industrial electrical installations, Kakto’s stainless steel isolators are available in 16A, 25A, 40A, 63A, 100A, 125A, 160A, 250A, 315A, 400A, 630A, 800A, 1000A, 1250A and 1600A.
All units incorporate a fully rated load-break switch, DIN rail mounted for easy installation. Large capacity cable terminals speed up fixing, while retrofit ‘snap-on’ auxiliary contacts preserve existing cabling within the enclosure. A door interlock features defeat mechanism interlocks in both the ‘on’ position and ‘padlocked off’ position. There is also provision for up to three padlocks, thus maximising safety. IP65 and IP69K isolators are available in grey/black and yellow/red handles and all come complete with stainless steel fixing screws.
