Introducing the S100 AC Variable Frequency Drive from LS Industrial Systems

The S100 is used worldwide to control the speed and torque of 3-phase motors. Whether they are used to soft-start fans and pumps or efficiently provide torque to a conveyor system, perfect control is always achieved.

Designed with both the installer and user in mind, S100 is simple to install and easy to operate. A 7-segment LED programmer is included, as well as built-in RFI filters ensuring compliance with European EMC regulations.

S100 is available in IP20 form from 400W up to 75kW (up to 90kW for fans/pumps) for installing in an enclosure or for wall-mounting in a clean dry plant room. IP66 versions are also available up to 22kW for use in dusty environments or where wash-downs are required.

Perfect for controlling the speed of conveyors, mixers, crushers and machine tools; S100 can generate powerful starting torques of up to 200%. With its powerful sensorless ‘Flying Start’ function S100 is also an ideal drive for Fans and Pumps in applications where the motor needs to restart onto a ‘wind milling’ load.

Designed using the latest thermal modelling techniques S100 can be installed with only 2mm between adjacent S100 drives, this along with up to a 60% reduction in size over previous models will save you money by being able to use much smaller enclosures.

With standard and optional equipment such as filters and DC Reactors, S100 ensures compliance with European Standards covering Variable Speed Drives. Handy features such as ‘Dual-Rating’ mean it is possible to down-size S100 for Fans and Pumps, saving you even more money. When using S100 you can be confident that integrating with existing Factory Automation Systems will be hassle free with Profibus-DP, Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP, CANopen, PROFINET and EtherCAT options available.

By using its Dual-Channel Safe Torque Off inputs, S100 can be compliant with the European Machinery Directive for machine safety.

An optional backlit LCD display in ‘plain English’ text is also available for use up to 22kW and will come as standard equipment above 22kW. The remote mounting LCD keypad also doubles as a handy parameter copier for quicker programming. In the case that there should be multiple parameter sets that require storing, a ‘Smart Copier’ is also available and can even be used when the S100 is powered off. Also available are flange mounting kits for ‘through-hole’ mounting and a simple cable gland module ideal for plant room installations.
