Surge Protection Devices

LS Electric surge protection devices known as surge protection devices (SPDs) are devices that are used in power supply networks to protect electrical equipment from damage caused by power surges or transient overvoltages. They can also be caused by lightning strikes and switching sources. They are frequently used in the power line or telephone line, data network, CCTV circuit, cable TV circuit, and control line to detect overvoltage. When a surge protector detects a transient overvoltage, it instantly conducts it to earth, lowering the voltage to less harmful levels. They are often installed within an existing consumer unit, but if space is restricted, they can also be installed in a separate neighbouring enclosure.

What is an SPD?

An SPD is also referred to as the TVSS (Transient Voltage Surge Suppressor) and is a device that protects various types of equipment from surge and attenuates the overvoltage and noise. SPD SPD is an equipment.
