KATKO KEF Firefighter Switch is a switch-disconnector/ isolator that is IEC Approved and manufactured from either IP66 aluminium or a polycarbonate enclosure. Also known as a Fireman Switch, according to The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, BS 7671: 2008, it can be installed on the outside of a building or in the interior of a building in the main entrance or a location agreed with the local fire authority. For example, petrol stations, shops and shopping centres, nightclubs, theatres, hotels, restaurants etc. The aluminium/polycarbonate enclosure is finished in red for clear visibility in an emergency, Firefighters use Firefighter Switches to turn off neon lighting and signage to prevent detonation and explosion. The KEF safety Firefighter Switch, provide good resistance against UV and many chemicals.
Features include a side mounted, pole operated, ring handle which automatically locks in the ‘OFF’ position, a red metal clad IP66 rated enclosure with door interlocked cover containing a 3 or 4 pole, fully rated load break switch, 3 cable entries and padlockable handle.
